You're Not Crazy

One minute you're happy, the next minute you're in tears for no apparent reason.

One minute you're full of energy, the next minute you're falling asleep the moment you sit down.

One day you're fit and healthy, a month later you're fatigued and gaining weight by the day.

What is going on?

You may feel like your body has betrayed you, that your good years are over.

But I'm here to tell you that is not the case!

You merely need to re-adjust some things as your hormones begin to shift.

It's kind of like puberty for older women.

Without the sex drive!

I know, such cruel and unusual punishment!

BUT THERE IS HOPE!!!

I have been going through menopause for over a decade now. It started when I had a hysterectomy. Since I still had my ovaries, I didn't think pre-menopause would hit me hard.

Boy was I wrong!

Within weeks I felt completely out of whack.

Mood swings

Heart palpitations

Fatigue

Insomnia

Hot flashes

Loss of libido

Depression

Anxiety

Weight gain

Oh the weight gain! That alone just about did me in. It took away what little self esteem I had. Regardless of how healthy I ate or how much I exercised, the pounds just piled on.

Absolutely not fair!

I guess I just want you to know that you are not alone. I've been there - and I'm still struggling with some aspects of menopause! But there is HOPE! There are things you can do to alleviate some of the frustrations you're facing.

I sure wish there were women speaking out about this a decade ago! I so desperately needed to know that I was going to be ok. That life would get better.

I want to be that person for you.

You matter.

You're not alone.
